Stockport Swimming Club was established, in 1886, nearly 140 years ago, in our long history it has always been our main aim to make learning to swim accessible for all.
With learning to swim at the forefront of our ethos we pride ourselves on establishing the needs of every single member and then placing within the club in the right place for them.
Club Night
We hold our club night on a Tuesday from 6.30 pm – 9:30pm. There are are various different sessions depending on your ability and more information about this can be found on our training page.

The club meets at Cheadle Pools, Shires Drive, Cheadle, Stockport, SK8 IJR

Club Management
The club is managed by a team of volunteers, serving as the club committee, from which the club’s officers are elected. The committee manage the club night and are responsible for the supervision of the club’s team of swimming teachers and coaches. The club teachers and coaches are qualified in the teaching and coaching of swimmers. All volunteers are expected to operate under the clubs Volunteer Handbook.

Committee
The Club is managed by a Committee that includes the three Officers of the Club. Committee meetings are held every 2 months. New members are always welcome. To view a list of current committee members please click here.
Club Annual General Meeting (AGM)
The AGM is traditionally held on the first Thursday in November. Notification of the AGM is given on the Club Notice Board 28 days before the due date. Any resolutions or proposals must be handed to the Club Secretary 21 days before the AGM Date.
